Matthew Lundy was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He attended Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi on an academic-athletic scholarship. He attended law school at Louisiana State University and graduated in the top 15% of his class in 1988.

Upon graduating from law school, Matt accepted a job as a law clerk to the Honorable Earl Veron, United States District Judge for the Western District of Louisiana, Lake Charles Division. During his clerkship, Matt studied and sat for the Texas bar exam. Matt was admitted to practice in the state of Texas in 1989. He joined his brother, Hunter Lundy, and Clayton Davis at Lundy & Davis, L.L.P. in Lake Charles, in 1989. Matt has been involved in litigation since he started working for the firm.

Matt practiced law in Lake Charles until 1994, when he transferred to Houston, Texas to oversee the Texas office of Lundy & Davis, L.L.P. He is a member of the bars of Louisiana and Texas, and practices products liability, mass tort, environmental and maritime law before state and federal courts throughout the region.

Matt has been actively involved with the Louisiana Plaintiffs' Steering Committee in the breast implant litigation as a member of the Bristol-Meyers Squibb trial team. He was also a member of the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee in Cause No. 95-6359; Sally Comeaux, et al. v. Vista Chemical Company, et al.; 14th Judicial District Court, Parish of Calcasieu, State of Louisiana, a neighborhood groundwater contamination class action filed on December 5, 1995and settled in 1998. Matt is also spearheading the firm's involvement in pursuing claims brought under the False Claims Act for Medicare and Medicaid fraud.

Matt is married to the former Martha Coleman and they have two children, Jordan Thomas and Shelby Elise. Both he and Martha (Marti) are actively involved in church and civic activities. Prior to moving to Houston, Matt was a member of the South Lake Charles Kiwanis Club, Treasurer of the Southwest Louisiana Counsel on child Abuse and member of the Volunteer Center of Southwest Louisiana. They are members at Kingwood First Baptist Church.
